Western Maryland Scenic Railroad acquired 734’s new flues from the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum through a purchasing partnership thanks to our donors and supporters!

As part of the meticulous restoration process for Western Maryland Scenic Railroad's No. 734, crews have been carefully removing and cataloging parts from the historic locomotive. This crucial step ensures that every component, from the smallest bolt to larger mechanical assemblies, is documented and evaluated for repair, replacement, or refurbishment. Cataloging these parts not only preserves an accurate record of the locomotive's original structure but also streamlines the reassembly process, ensuring that the restored engine remains true to its historical design. This methodical approach underscores the dedication and expertise required to bring a century-old steam engine back to life.
