Take A Ride
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our income is brought in by ticket sales, donations, and grants. Your ride on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad will bring us closer to hearing her whistle blow once again.
Hear Her Story
Built in 1916 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works, it is a 2-8-0 "Consolidation" type that once served the Lake Superior & Ishpeming Railroad. Known for its distinctive whistle and powerful presence, WMSR 734 attracts railfans and tourists and has served as an icon of Cumberland, Maryland since her arrival in 1992.
